Journaling Assignment: 

Your assignment today is to do “negative writing” (as described in today’s video) for as long as it takes to write down all of the thoughts you have that cause you anxiety; choose a piece of paper for this assignment that you can throw away:

  • Don’t edit – just write

  • Write down all of the anxiety producing thoughts you have at this time

  • After you finish writing – tear the page up and throw it away(!)

  • On a page in your journal you won’t be throwing away: On a 1-10 scale (10 being worst) how would you rate your pain today?
